We're Hiring

We’ve got the following roles available:

Client Delivery Manager

As a Client Delivery Manager you will work alongside cross-functional PaperKite teams, clients and third parties, to facilitate the exploration and development that leads to better digital experiences.

You are highly motivated to ensure excellence within the delivery function at PaperKite, which includes leading by example, empowering others and creating an environment where teams can  thrive. You know that the key to all of this is effective communication, collaboration, and planning.

If you have a highly collaborative working style, a fervent sense of team and are ready to be a key player in helping deliver awesome experiences to end users then apply with your CV and cover letter telling us why this is the right role for you. Don’t hesitate to get in touch even if your portfolio / CV is incomplete.

iOS Developer

As a member of our development team you work alongside members of the PaperKite team – as well as clients and third parties – to develop quality software and systems that form the foundation of each digital experience we create. You are a problem solver by nature.

Every solution you produce, every pull request you make, every commit you push, takes into consideration the longevity, quality, and end user experience of the solution we are creating.

You are focused on building secure, stable, and performant software that meets (or exceeds) the brief every time.

How we support our team to do their most meaningful work

People come first

People are front and centre of everything we do. We are a diverse team with a range of experiences and strengths that make us mighty. We offer a work space that is fun, supportive and inclusive. You’ll be working alongside people who have a shared mission and values. We want PaperKite to be a place where our contributions matter, we are challenged in what we do, and each PaperKiter is a valued member of our community.

Studio in the heart of Wellington

Our Studio was custom-built with our team in mind and with Wellington’s best eateries and bars at our doorstep. Ample meeting rooms, gender neutral bathrooms, corn-hole, a private quiet space for downtime or anything else you need it for - from meditation to expressing milk. Lots of break-out spaces and comfy couches for lounging or thinking-time. PaperKite welcomes dogs in the office on ‘PupperKite Thursdays’.

Health & wellbeing

All PaperKiters can join our free group Health Insurance plan and we provide access to sick leave from day one of your time as a PaperKiter too. This remains in place for PaperKiters on Parental Leave. You will have access to free, private and confidential counselling services through an Employee Assistance Programme, and we have Mental Health First Responder-trained team members. PaperKiters are also offered annual flu vaccinations and the flexibility to attend health and wellbeing appointments.

Flexible working

We’re proud of the diversity that makes up the PaperKite community and that means appreciating different needs. PaperKite offers hybrid working to allow for remote and office-based collaboration. We trust everyone to meet their commitment to our mahi and to our culture and community.

Community & making mahi matter

We down-tools from 2:30 pm every Friday to welcome newbies, share, learn and connect with each other; showcase our mahi, share industry news or hear from passionate guest speakers. And we close out every week by giving thanks and sharing what we’re grateful for. You’ll have the opportunity to have your voice heard via the Technical or Wider Leadership Forums, quarterly Town Hall all-hands meetings and 1:1’s with Leads and Coaches.

Team activities & adventures

We get the whole team together (even when you work remotely and outside Wellington) regularly for activities, shared lunches and learning sessions. This might include Whānau & Friend nights or recognising an epic year with a party. And Discipline Teams meet every week to collaborate and indulge in A-grade banter.

Kai for all

Barista grade coffee machine and a complimentary drinks fridge are available to all who work from our Wellington HQ. PaperKite provides fruit, snacks, chocolate, and a cheese board every Friday.

Celebrating you

Treat yourself - take your birthday off! PaperKite also rewards and recognises how long you’ve been with us with treats, gifts and extra leave days. PaperKite is an Immigration NZ Accredited Employer, committed to ensuring our migrant team members are looked after while settling in Aotearoa. You’ll have access to the tools you need to do your most meaningful work and the support to do so.

We get excited about our annual Performance Review Season, a chance to reflect and celebrate all our people have achieved over 12 months. You’ll be offered guidance from a subject matter expert, your ‘Discipline Lead’ and holistic coaching from a ‘People Coach’. We also support our team members to find mentorship outside of PaperKite utilising the communities and significant networks of the team.

Our learning and development framework was driven and designed by our people.

We are obsessed with helping our team grow and be challenged with training and upskilling opportunities as well as supporting any other aspirations you may have. Whatever your goals are, we have formal and informal times of the year to make them known, and get you to where you want to be.

We strongly believe in sharing knowledge with the whole team. That may be taking part in our weekly ‘Mahi Matters’ showcase, or sharing your passions at one of our Friday sessions. We have a regular time set aside every week to learn, motivate and be inspired.

At a higher level, we developed our own bespoke Growth Pathways Matrix; a set of skills and competencies that you can reflect on to set goals and enhance your craft. This is just one part of the Growth Pathways Framework to help guide and grow you at PaperKite. We encourage peer feedback to suggest areas of improvement and celebrate your milestones. We also encourage conversations around performance and your measures of success at least twice a year. All of these are in addition to regular 1:1s with your Lead.

Giving and receiving feedback or ‘Telling the Kind Truth’ happens all the time at PaperKite, so you won’t have to wait till your peer reviews or 1:1s for this. We give virtual ‘High 5s’ on Slack and we close out every week by inviting everyone to share what they are grateful for in person.

Our people-first focus offers the opportunity for any team member to be part of our Wider Leadership Forum, a regular space for your voice to be heard and contribute to PaperKite’s strategic initiatives. The team is also invited to be part of our People Experience Squad, a team 100% focused on evolving our culture through listening to our people.
